CONTACT Portfolio Reviews
Saturday May 4 & Sunday May 5, 10am – 5pm

Curators and directors, art dealers, publishers and photo editors are brought together for two days during CONTACT to do portfolio reviews for established and emerging artists, with a focus on documentary, photojournalism or photo-based art practices.
This is an important event for artists with projects at advanced stages of development who are seeking opportunities for publishing and exhibiting nationally or internationally—as well as looking for guidance on conceptual approaches or career development advice.
The registration fee is $200 for four reviews.
Each review is 20 minutes.
Saturday May 4, 6 - 8pm
This evening is an opportunity for participants to mingle and share their portfolios with reviewers, and peers in an informal open forum. Please note all participants wishing to be considered for the Portfolio Reviews Exhibition Award must attend to ensure the jury has seen your work.
Sunday May 5, 5 - 7pm
To celebrate the two-day event, everyone is invited for a casual reception in the Melody Bar for brief remarks and to announce the recipient of the the Exhibition Award.
All events are at The Gladstone Hotel.
Portfolio Reviews Exhibition Award
Established in 2010 this award, chosen by a jury of international professional in the field of photography, recognizes outstanding work presented at CONTACT’s annual Portfolio Reviews. The program was created to support and advance the careers of talented emerging photographers.
One artist will be awarded with a solo exhibition presented at the CONTACT Gallery in January 2014. The winner will receive an artist fee in accordance with CARFAC rates, as well as production assistance of $1000. In addition, our official retail partner Vistek, will provide a $1000 rental gift certificate and Toronto Image Works will offer technical support and a discount on printing.
